Generative AI Training for BCSIT Students at Quest International College
Live prompting gives students a chance to try an idea while the discussion is still happening. That practical approach was central to my generative AI training at Quest International College with BCSIT students.
The session covered advanced prompting techniques, tool recommendations, productivity, presentations with AI, and automation using Claude. Rather than limiting the session to an introduction, we made time for students to work with the ideas themselves.

Learning through live prompting
Live prompting was one of the main activities. It gave students a way to connect the frameworks with an actual interaction, rather than only read about how a prompt should be structured.
For students continuing to practise, I recommend choosing one task and revising the prompt deliberately. Be clear about what you want to produce and compare the response with that goal. If the result is not useful, look at what information or direction was missing before starting again.
Presentations, productivity, and tool choices
We also covered AI-assisted presentations and productivity. These topics connect naturally with student work, where preparing and communicating an idea matters alongside understanding it.
Tool recommendations were part of the discussion, but the broader value is learning to choose a tool for a purpose. Students do not need to use every new platform. They need to understand what they are trying to do and whether a particular tool helps them do it well.
Trying automation with Claude
Automation using Claude was another practical part of the session. Students enjoyed trying different things with it, bringing the discussion beyond basic questions and answers.
For anyone exploring automation afterward, a sensible starting point is a small, repeatable task. Work out the steps, test the result, and keep a review point before relying on it. The aim should be useful assistance, not removing your own judgement from the work.
